Mamoru Imade, 82, of Kurtistown died March 21 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kurtistown, he was a retired automotive mechanic at the former PunaService Station, member of Kurtistown Jodo Mission, Kurtistown 11 Mile Lower Kumiai, Kurtistown Young Men’s Association, Hilo Casting Club and a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. Born in Paauilo, she was retired from the former Western Auto Store in Hilo as a sales clerk, a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan, Fujinkai, and Hoyukai, the Nohea Kumiai and Uta No Kai Hilo Karaoke Club.
